These Are a Few of my Favorite Things…

Hey Guys! I thought I would start out by telling you guys about a few things I’m LOVING right now!

1. EcoTools Brushes: I absolutely love these brushes! I just got the 5-Piece Brush Set at Target the other day and I’m hooked. The set includes a Blush Brush, Eye Shading Brush, Eyeliner Brush, Lash and Brow Groomer, Concealer Brush and Brush case and they are all made from recycled materials! They have bamboo handles, synthetic Taklon bristles and sleek ferule made with recycled aluminum. They have a great design and the bristles are so soft! The best thing about them? The price! For the 5 piece set it was only $10.99 and I also picked up their retractable kabuki brush for $7.99!

2. The Body Book by Cameron Diaz: I saw Cameron Diaz, who I already love, on Jimmy Fallon the other night promoting this book. She really peaked my interest when she started talking about the science behind healthy living and eating. While I was out getting the EcoTool brushes at Target I came across the book and decided to get it. I’m a few chapters in and I’m hooked! Usually when I get a book, I leave it for awhile until I have absolutely nothing else to do and then I start reading lol. With this one, I saw this quote on the inside of the book sleeve and had to start immediately: “In this book there is no goal to reach in 7 days or 30 days or 365 days. The goal here is forever. And what you will earn is measured not in pounds or inches lost, but in what you will gain.” I have really started getting into a better fitness and health routine and that quote just spoke to me! Trust me, even if you’re not a fitness junkie, this book will make you want to take better care of your body ❤

3. Emily Ley: I have always had an issue with organization. I am such a forgetful person! All of those planners that people use for school just never helped me. The spaces they give you to write your daily appointments/homework/routine is just too small! Ever since I have gotten back from being abroad, where I really didn’t have to organize my day like I do when I’m at school here, I have been a bit of a basket case. So when I saw a review for Emily Ley’s Simplified Life organizers, I knew I had to check it out for myself. It’s a little expensive so I used the budget I had given myself for some new clothes. It was well worth it! I ordered one of her simplified life binders with about 6 of her inserts and used command strips to attach her sticky note pad to the front. It has really been helping me get organized! I also pre-ordered her simplified life planner and can’t wait to get that! It’s being offered at a discounted price since it isn’t coming until mid-march. I also ordered some multi-colored chevron washi tape from Etsy to make the planners pretty! Right now I am using the binder as an organizer for everything but when the planner comes, I am going to split it up. The planner will obviously be for my homework and assignments (since I am still a student), my day to day appointments (such as doctor’s appointment as extra-curricular activity meetings), and scheduling duty (since I’m an RA) and I will use my shopping list, brain dump, goals, to do list, projects, and health tracker inserts to keep track of a bunch of other important things in my everyday life. 🙂

And here is the planner I pre-ordered

4. Cucumber Sugar Scrub: I am in love with this scrub! I first saw it on Amber Fillerup’s blog, Barefoot Blonde, and knew I had to try it. I just made it two days ago with my mom (I’m home on spring break right now :)) and I have loved using it every morning. The mint really wakes you up and the sugar is such a great, natural exfoliant. You can find the recipe here. I used 4 cups of sugar since I wanted more of an exfoliant. Amber says you shouldn’t use it every day if you put all 4 cups in but my skin has been through a lot of stress so I have been. I will probably start using it every other morning after spring break is over.

Cucmber Scrub

That’s all for now! I am really enjoying spring break but since Kristen is at a friend’s house and I am home, there’s not much to do but watch movies with my family and do homework! So that means I will definitely be posting more 🙂

Bye for now!
